Los Roques are a Venezuelan archipelago, located in the Caribbean Sea at 168 from the North of La Guaira. It was declared a National Park in 1972, because of its beauty and ecological importance.
Flying in is unforgettable, due to the variety of blue hues you can see. The archipelago is formed by about 50 different islands. The most important is Gran Roque, the only populated island, where the airport is situated. Las otras islas más importantes son Francisqui, Nordisqui, Madrisqui y Crasqui.
Climate: Los Roques has an annual average temperature of 29ºC. In July and August, it reaches a maximum of 34ºC, and there is occasional rainfall between September and January.
Population: El Gran Roque, the biggest island of the archpielago, has around 1,000 inhabitants. The rest of the population is composed by visitors from Caracas who live in summer homes in the neighboring islands of Rasqui and Madrisqui.
